Description
Civil war-era home of "Judge Emerson" where Ulysses S. Grant was promoted to general, near the scene of a civil war battle, Pilot Knob, Missouri; formerly the rectory on grounds of Ste. Marie Du Lac Catholic Church, Ironton; razed c. 1988, not long after this was painted. Red granite monument at right supports a soldier statue absent for repairs when this was painted; the white statue at left is of the Madonna. Watercolor, 14 1/2" x 21 1/2", on Waterford 140 lb. CP, sold. Available as prints in sizes to 24" x 36". FAA watermark will not appear on the print or card.
